As their academic efforts were coming to a conclusion, honours students successfully defended their undergraduate theses, which indicated their unrelented process of improving professional qualifications and research capabilities at the Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
On 22 September 2021, the Department of Laboratory Medicine (Faculty of Nursing and Medical Technology, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine) held an online undergraduate thesis defence meeting for Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLSc) students, class of 2017-2021.
Thesis topics spanned three disciplines: Biochemistry, Haematology, and Molecular Biomedicine. Under the instruction of their supervisors, students completed four research topics whose contents are described below.
The defence committee identified points that needed correction and offered suggestions for improvement so that students could submit a complete, final thesis. In general, the theses were highly practical and could be readily adopted in real-life problems related to medical testing. The creatively and scientifically presented theses made meaningful contributions to the advancements of laboratory technology. At the undergraduate level, the theses were deemed satisfactory.
Despite taking place remotely, the defence meeting was held in a solemn atmosphere and came to a successful conclusion. This achievement served as proof of the Department’s competencies for quality education and training. It also contributed to the reputation of the Faculty and University as a prestigious institution in the field of medical laboratory technology.
